The West Texas Permian Midland Basin spans over 78,000 square miles, composed of sedimentary deposits and rocks that date back to the Permian period, 47 million years ago! Upon these picturesque plateaus near the towns of McCamey and Crane, fossilized remains of ancient crustaceans and organisms are scattered throughout, making one wonder how this immense desert region could have been the ocean floor long ago!
Organic deposits left by this ancient sea helped yield vast underground oil deposits and minerals that have made the Permian Basin one of the largest fossil fuel reserves in the world! Although West Texas is known worldwide as one of the richest economic sources for natural gas and oil, it is seldom known as being a major attraction for music and entertainment.
This is all about to change!
The goal of WTX Manifest is to also make an economic impact for local communities, while becoming a sustainability model for attendees as well as other local and national events.
We will be focusing on three local 501c3 community organizations to raise funds during the festival! Additionally, we will be "going green" by requiring the use of recyclable and biodegradable cups, plates, and utensils from all our food and drink vendors. Any donated or abandoned camping tents from the festival will be repurposed to charitable organizations.
